English Toffee
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 3 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 1/8 oz. chocolate bars
- 3/4 cup roasted peanuts, finely chopped
Directions:
Combine sugar, butter, and water; cook to 300 degrees, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and pour into a buttered 9x9 inch pan. Lay chocolate bars on top and spread them evenly as they melt. While still warm, sprinkle peanuts over top. Cool thoroughly and break into pieces. Yield: 36 servings.
